Receiving Your Safe

For Products Over 150 Pounds

Delivery Information

Once the carrier contacts you, please schedule a delivery time that works for you. You or an authorized representative must be present at the scheduled delivery time.

  • Deliveries take place Monday through Friday, between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM.
  • A 4–8 hour delivery window is typically required.
  • If a delivery is attempted without an appointment, you may refuse it and request scheduling. 
  • Safes Plus Security can provide the carrier’s contact details if you prefer to contact the carrier prior to the carrier reaching out to you.
  • Storage fees may apply if delivery is not completed within three business days after the shipment arrives at the terminal. These must be paid before delivery can occur.
  • If someone else will receive the shipment on your behalf, ensure they understand these instructions and send them these instructions for their own reference.
  • If a scheduled delivery is changed after the shipment is already out for delivery, a re-delivery fee may apply and must be paid before the delivery takes place.

If Damage Is Found

Inspecting Your Delivery

At delivery, the driver will ask you to sign a receipt. Before signing, you must:

  • Carefully inspect the packaging and note any visible damage (even minor scuffs, scratches, or tears) on the delivery receipt.
  • Failure to document even small damage releases the freight carrier from responsibility, making claims impossible—even for hidden damage.
  • Clearly write “DAMAGE TO PACKAGE” on the receipt if any issues are present.

Minor cosmetic marks are common with large shipments and typically do not affect functionality. Touch-up paint is available if needed. If parts are missing, contact us for prompt replacement.

You may request to remove packaging to inspect the product itself, though this is at the driver’s discretion. We recommend doing so if permitted.

If someone else is receiving the shipment for you, ensure they follow these inspection steps. Printing and sharing these instructions is strongly recommended.

  • Refuse delivery of items with major damage (such as deep dents or structural issues) and note this clearly on the receipt.
  • Contact us immediately at info@safesplussecurity.com to report serious damage.

Important Claim Information

  • If you sign the delivery receipt without noting damage, we cannot file a freight claim.
  • Freight carriers will not honor claims unless any damage—no matter how minor—is documented at delivery.
  • Most carriers allow up to 50 hours after delivery to file a claim. After that, claims must go through the shipper.
  • To file a claim, contact us immediately at 800-611-7561 or email  info@safesplussecurity.com. Include a copy of the delivery receipt with your damage notes and photos if possible.
  • If multiple items are delivered and only some are damaged, accept the undamaged items and refuse only the damaged ones. Note this on the receipt.
  • Damage discovered after signing without notation will not be covered. Concealed damage must be reported within 24 hours.
  • Keep all original packaging until inspection is completed or you are advised to discard it.

Product Issues After Delivery

If your product develops a manufacturer defect within the warranty period, we will assist with replacement parts or, if necessary, the entire unit. Contact us and we will work with the manufacturer to resolve the issue.


For Products 150 Pounds or Less

  • These items ship via UPS, USPS, or FedEx Ground.
  • Delivery appointments are not scheduled in advance.
  • A signature is generally not required unless specified.
  • Inspect your package upon arrival and contact us immediately if damage is found.
  • Do not discard packaging until any claim is resolved.
